Patrick
Kobernus
Patrick Kobernus grew up in the San Francisco
Bay Area, and while working on a Masters degree in Ecology he began
exploring learning to sing and play the guitar. In the early 1990's
he started out playing in garage bands while working as an environmental
biologist. His strongest musical influences include Neil Young,
The Beatles, U2, The Cure, Collective Soul, and The The.
As a long time practitioner of meditation,
he became interested in communicating aspects of spirtual work through
music. After moving to San Francisco in 2000 and completing his
Masters degree in Ecology, Patrick began to experiment with creating
his own music, with a focus upon blending alternative rock, country,
jazz, and pop influences. With the help of many others, the CD "Cowboy
Zen" was completed in February, 2005.
Patrick, and the ever-changing members of
the band SlyWay, continue to meditate, drink ales, and play music
in the San Francisco Bay Area.
